The following is a summary of California Proposition 65 settlements recently finalized that involve consumer products

Requirements for New Settlements:

Seat pads

Less than 100 ppm (0.01%) of total fluorine, if exceed, further testing conduct for PFOA (BV reporting limit is 0.01 ppm)
Or utilize a warning statement

Cooling hat

Less than 100 ppm (0.01%) of total fluorine, if exceed, further testing conduct for PFOA (BV reporting limit is 0.01 ppm)
Or utilize a warning statement

Gas tank cover

Less than 100 ppm (0.01%) of total fluorine, if exceed, further testing conduct for PFOA (BV reporting limit is 0.01 ppm)
Or utilize a warning statement

Baskets with vinyl/PVC components

No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) for each phthalate (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DnHP)
Or utilize a warning statement

Security products

No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) for each phthalate (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DnHP)
No more than 300 ppm (0.03%) of Lead
Or utilize a warning statement

Update current criteria by additional settlements:

Key chains, jewelry organizers and Jewelry boxes

No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) for each phthalate (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DnHP)
Or utilize a warning statement

Changes: Added scope of Jewelry boxes

Storage bin and box

No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) for each phthalate (DEHP, DBP, BBP and DINP)
Warning label cannot be used as an alternative to meet the requirement

Changes: Added DINP requirement

Swim goggles and rain suit packaging

No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) for each phthalate (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DnHP)
Or utilize a warning statement

Change: Add scope for rain suit packaging and additional phthalates (DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DnHP)

Cosmetic and personal care products

No intentionally added Cocamide Diethanolamine
No intentionally added Diethanolamine
Ingredient list review

And

No intentionally added Diethanolamine when product containing Triethanolamine, actual test for Diethanolamine

Change:
(1) Expand scope to all cosmetic and personal care product, as well as some OTC drug products such as hand sanitizers, sunscreen, and topical antifungal products.
(2) Add actual test for Diethanolamine when certain products containing Triethanolamine.

Laundry detergents and household cleaning products

No intentionally added Cocamide Diethanolamine
Ingredient list review

Change: Expand scope to all household cleaning product, not only multi-purpose cleaner. For example, laundry detergent.
