Telecommunication Testing
Wireless technology has revolutionized diverse product categories, extending from high-tech gadgets like keyboards, scanners, laptops, and printers to more everyday items such as electronic toys. Many electrical devices now operate via wireless components—including Wi-Fi routers/modems, wireless mice and keyboards, headphones, smartwatches, USB Wi-Fi drives, and speakers—primarily providing convenience and enhancing safety for users. However, the emission of radiofrequency energy by these devices raises important safety considerations.
Regulatory Framework and Mandatory Certification
In India, the Telecommunications Engineering Centre (TEC), operating under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), is mandated to conduct Mandatory Testing & Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE). TEC oversees the compliance of nearly 50 product categories to protect network integrity and device safety.
As a designated Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) under TEC (Certificate No.: TEC/MRA/CAB/IND-D/58), Hi Physix offers comprehensive testing services that address the performance, operation, and safety of wireless devices. Our accredited EMC/EMI laboratory covers a broad variety of low-power wireless products used extensively across IT and electronics sectors, complying with applicable IS, IEC, and TEC standards.
Scope of Testing and Charges
Our testing repertoire includes detailed technical evaluations for Information Technology Equipment and Telecom Batteries based on relevant Indian and international standards. This covers:
- Safety verifications, power interface checks, electric shock protection, insulation, wiring, mechanical strength, and thermal requirements for IT equipment.
- Assessment of batteries including secondary cells, lithium batteries, and valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, with tests like short-circuit, thermal abuse, overcharging, capacity, and aging.
The service pricing aligns with the complexity and class of the equipment under test. Testing charges vary based on technical requirements and battery capacities, providing transparent costing for all mandatory certification components.
