CPSC eFiling

eFiling is a CPSC initiative to enable importers of regulated consumer products into the United States, to file electronically with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) certain data elements from a certificate of compliance, via a Partner Government Agency (PGA) Message Set.

Purpose: eFiling will improve the safety of consumer products imported into the U.S., by enhancing CPSC’s risk assessment, targeting, and enforcement ability to interdict noncompliant consumer products at the ports.
Product Scope: Includes General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) for products intended for adults, such as Apparel, Mattresses, Cigarette Lighters, and Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) for products intended for children/infant such as Toys, Sleepwear, and Juvenile Furniture. See full list

Timeline
The CPSC is actively developing the eFiling program and finalizing rulemaking. Importer participants are currently testing the eFiling system and preparing for full rollout.
