What is WRAP?

WRAP is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and certifying ethical labor practices and responsible production throughout the garment, footwear, and sewn goods industries. It offers a comprehensive audit and certification program that assesses factories against its 12 Principles including:

Over 700 buyers, brands, and retailers worldwide accept WRAP certifications, making it the most widely accepted independent certification program in the sewn products production and related sectors. WRAP-certified facilities who comply with these principles demonstrate their commitment to having a safe, healthy, and ethical work environmental for their workers.

Important Note: It is important to remember that WRAP certifications can only be granted to individual production units. Holding companies, brands, and retailers are not eligible to apply directly for WRAP certification, but they often require their suppliers to be WRAP-certified.

WRAP no longer offers certification levels as of March 1, 2026. Upon passing the WRAP audit, facilities will receive a certificate which will indicate an annual Certification of Compliance.

All certified facilities are also subject to random, unannounced Post-Certification Assessments during their certification period to ensure continued compliance.
