Bureau Veritas Opens Cosmetic Laboratory in China

Bureau Veritas expands its Cosmetic and Skin Care Product Testing Solution in China

Shanghai, October 6, 2022. Bureau Veritas, one of the leading Testing, Inspection and Certification providers for the health, beauty and household (HBH) industry has announced the opening of its Shanghai Cosmetic Performance Laboratory in China, to support the increasing testing demands in China.

China is the largest cosmetics products importing country in the world accounting for 13% of all imports as of H1-22*. The Chinese cosmetics market, one of the fastest growing segments in China, is also expected to record a value of almost $90 billion USD in 2025, increasing at a CAGR of 6%**. While international brands still dominate China’s cosmetics market, there remain many challenges for domestic cosmetics brands/manufacturers from manufacturing upgrade, rapidly changing regulations and requirements, and critically, the consumer trust.

In order to support cosmetic brands and manufacturers, importers and raw material suppliers, Bureau Veritas services covers the whole supply chain, from raw material to final product. Additionally, Bureau Veritas announced the signature of a BV Mark strategic cooperation framework with WarmU (Shanghai Warmyou Industry Co., Ltd.), which specializes in manufacturing self-heating products such as heating pads, pain patches and warm eye masks.
