Bureau Veritas, Advantech and MediaTek Achieve IEC 62443-4-2 Certification for Arm-Based Platform in Response to EU Cyber Resilience Act
December 31, 2025 | Taipei, Taiwan - As the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) moves closer to enforcement, cybersecurity requirements for industrial and embedded systems are becoming more explicit, covering product design, development processes, and regulatory compliance. Bureau Veritas continues to contribute to the evolution of international industrial control security standards such as the CRA and IEC 62443, supporting manufacturers to translate regulatory requirements into practical product verification and compliance processes.
Working together with Advantech and MediaTek, Bureau Veritas has finalized a benchmark industrial cybersecurity certification project. Advantech's RSB-3810, an Arm-based industrial single-board computer powered by MediaTek's Genio 1200 platform, has obtained IEC 62443-4-2 Verification of Conformity (VoC), illustrating a realistic implementation of the CRA framework in industrial environments.
Sébastian Doose, Senior Vice President of the Global Technology Products Business Line at Bureau Veritas, commented: "As cybersecurity regulations such as the CRA continue to evolve, the challenge for companies extends beyond regulatory compliance to effectively embedding cybersecurity into product design and development processes. Advantech's early integration of IEC 62443 in this project demonstrates a strong commitment to industrial cybersecurity. Bureau Veritas is pleased to support companies through independent verification and expert guidance, enabling them to meet requirements efficiently while strengthening trust in global markets."
Miller Chang, General Manager of Advantech's Embedded Sector, stated: "With the rapid evolution of edge AI and industrial applications, Arm-based architectures are becoming a solid foundation for industrial systems, offering a balance of performance and energy efficiency. By broadening our Arm-based portfolio and proactively aligning with international cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443 ahead of CRA implementation, Advantech helps customers streamline their compliance journey and accelerate worldwide deployment."
CK Wang, General Manager of MediaTek's IoT Business Unit, added: "In response to growing CRA compliance demand in the European market, MediaTek partnered with Advantech to complete certification of the Arm-based RSB-3810 industrial SBC—powered by the Genio 1200 IoT platform and running Ubuntu Pro OS—under the IEC 62443 standard, further reinforcing the cybersecurity posture of the platform for endpoint applications."
