Bureau Veritas attends China-ASEAN New Energy Vehicle Alliance Inauguration as Founding Member
On May 16th, Bureau Veritas CPS, as a founding member, took part in the inauguration of the China-ASEAN New Energy Vehicle Testing and Certification Alliance ('Alliance'), integrating production, research and inspection expertise in New Energy Vehicles ('NEV') for China and ASEAN.
Bureau Veritas' status as a founding member of the alliance reinforces the businesses' continued focus on the NEV industry, supporting clients develop new innovations and providing its’ technical expertise in the further development of testing standards and protocols.
Participation in the Alliance is also aligned with Bureau Veritas' ongoing focus on South East Asia, where its new wireless testing lab was inaugurated in Hanoi, Vietnam earlier in 2023. With strong growth forecasted in the region in coming years, the Alliance enables further connectivity across testing capabilities in Asia.
The Alliance is composed of eight bodies spanning standards, testing and certification, including China Quality Certification Center, China Automotive Technology and Research Center, and China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, with the aim to build an integrated service platform for testing and certification across the region.
This will also involve collaboration across the NEV industry chain standard system, cooperation across national infrastructure for NEVs, and exchanges such as standards, measurement, inspection and testing, certification and accreditation.
Shi Rongzhou, General Manager of Bureau Veritas China Automotive, attended the inauguration ceremony (third from the left in the photo), stating, "Bureau Veritas is honored to be a founding member of the Alliance, and will make a strong effort to support the development of third-party professional testing, inspection and certification agencies, strengthen cooperation with alliance members, build a win-win situation, help more new energy vehicles and parts products made in China quickly enter ASEAN, and contribute to the high-quality development of China's automotive industry."
Yao Lei, Deputy Director of the Certification and Supervision Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation, Xie Zhaoxu, Director of China Quality Certification Center, and Li Ze, Director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Market Supervision Administration, also attended the inauguration event.
