Bureau Veritas and CICV launch Joint Connected Vehicle Innovation Center

Establish Testing and Certification Service Platform for Intelligent Connected Vehicles

Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce its strategic cooperation with the China Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (Beijing) Research Institute Co., Ltd. (‘CICV’) to launch the National Smart Network Connected Vehicle Innovation Center (‘NSNCVIC’) in Suzhou, China. The opening ceremonies took place in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou.

The automotive, transport and wider mobility market is undergoing a transformational social, technological and economic shift, fundamentally changing the way people and products are moved.

With innovations across automobile and wireless technologies, and developments in energy storage and transportation accelerating, connectivity is the development trend in the industry, with V2X technologies bringing automotive into the Internet of Everything (IoE).

The new joint laboratory, in Suzhou, integrates the strengths of Bureau Veritas and CICV across the fields of automotive, electronics and wireless communication. The partners will work together to provide comprehensive services in the field of V2X and IoE, with cooperation covering OTA technologies, C-V2X conformance, vehicle cybersecurity, autonomous driving, EMC testing and certification for parts and vehicles.

The cooperation further strengthens our China network of laboratories located throughout China providing a one-stop solution for testing, certification and supply chain solutions for the new mobility marketplace.

Zheng Jihu, Executive Deputy Director; Chen Guixiang, Deputy Director and Liu Weiguo, Assistant Director of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Center, Yao Bin, Chairman and Shi Yu, General Manager of Huarui Savvy, and Shi Rongzhou, General Manager of Bureau Veritas' Automotive Services Division in China, attended the ceremony of the Joint Lab in Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing.

Mr. Tang Fengmin, General Manager of the Architecture Business Unit, Mr. Chen Yinlock, Director of the Architecture Business Unit, Mr. Huang Tai, Manager of Wireless Communication Technology of the Architecture Business Unit, Mr. Liu Xiewei, Senior Manager of the Research and Operation Department, Mr. Xu Chao, Operation Director of Bureau Veritas Shanghai Laboratory, Mr. Xu Junyu, Sales Director of the Testing Business, and other relevant business line leaders and guests attended the ceremony in Shanghai.

China Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (Beijing) Research Institute Co., Ltd. was established on 19 March 2018 by the China Society of Automotive Engineering, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the China Industry Innovation Alliance, and on 30 May 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially approved the establishment of the “National Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles”. The Innovation Centre gathers high-end professional talents and other industrial innovation resources at home and abroad, with the main objectives of conducting technology research, technology transfer and diffusion, commercialization application, and innovating public services around key common technologies in the field of intelligent connected vehicles.
