Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services issues Carbon Neutral Verification Statement to Sungrow Power

The first such statement issued in China by BVCPS

September 21, 2023 | Hefei, China Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (‘BVCPS’), has today announced the issuance of its first verification statement for commitment to carbon neutrality in China to Sungrow Power. The verification statement was carried out in compliance with PAS 2060 methodology.

Following the development of BVCPS’ Sustainability and Ecodesign services in China – which has enabled it to provide a suite of services to technology clients across multiple product types – the verification statement issued to Sungrow Power represents a key step forward for the Group’s sustainability solution provision.

With Carbon Neutrality growing in importance within the consumer product market; businesses looking to build their own ESG credentials and a sustainable image increasingly see verification as a pathway forward to gain an edge within their industries.

With the project completed in compliance with PAS 2060, an industry baseline methodology requiring a range of evidential technical documentation, such as a carbon management plan, QES, verification report and verification statement, and retrieved Verified Carbon Unit (‘VCU’) certificates, Sungrow can leverage the statement for their future business activities. The process considers Sungrow’s own activities as well as the purchase of carbon credits from elsewhere to reach their goals.

The verification statement is also the first completed project between BVCPS and Sungrow Power since signing an agreement of collaboration earlier in the year at Shanghai’s Carbon Neutral Exhibition. The statement was presented at “The Green, Low-carbon and Sustainable Development Forum for Advanced Manufacturing of the 2023 World Manufacturing Convention”.
