Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services signs an agreement with the National Automotive Innovation Center to collaborate on Sustainability and Ecodesign matters

September 3, 2023 | Beijing, China Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (‘BVCPS’) this week signed a cooperation agreement with Zibo Guochuang Advanced Automotive Materials Technology Innovation Center (‘Zibo Guochuang’) to increase collaboration in the fields of environmental management and social responsibility assessment.

The agreement is the latest step in BVCPS’ ongoing collaboration with Zibo Guochuang, China’s first national technology center specializing in automotive innovation, on innovation and sustainability matters in the automotive field, and was signed at the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services Global Trade in Services Summit.

This initiative increases cooperation between Zibo Guochuang and BVCPS across the localization of the full life cycle carbon footprint inventory database (CPLCID-CF) of the Guochuang Zibo Center.

Leveraging BVCPS' 30 years of rich experience in carbon management, self-developed LCA modeling software (EIME), customized product tools, and product life cycle database capabilities in CODDE, carbon modeling for Zibo Guochuang is the starting point for further innovations in the field between the two businesses and a key step in the development of BVCPS’ one-stop low-carbon management services for Chinese enterprises.

Of the collaboration, the General Manager of BVCPS China New Mobility Services Stone Shi said: "The cooperation between Bureau Veritas and Guochuang is a strong step forward for BVCPS and can promote the development of international low-carbon standards and management systems, as well as the exchange, mutual recognition, and sharing of carbon emission accounting methods and basic data. We hope to leverage this partnership to deepen scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation in the field of new energy vehicles and jointly build a low-carbon and sustainable new energy vehicle industry cycle system."
