Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, has acquired Lab System Institute of Research and Testing—Brazil’s largest independent laboratory specializing in toys and hardlines. Located in Guarulhos, São Paulo, Lab System brings over two decades of technical excellence and regulatory expertise across a wide range of consumer product categories, including electrical goods, PPE, automotive components, and food packaging. This strategic move significantly strengthens Bureau Veritas’ footprint in Brazil, a key market for global sourcing and regional distribution.
The acquisition is a cornerstone of Bureau Veritas’ LEAP|28 strategy, accelerating its expansion in Latin America and enhancing its Consumer Products Services (CPS) portfolio. By integrating Lab System’s accredited capabilities and deep local market knowledge, Bureau Veritas is now uniquely positioned to offer end-to-end testing solutions for international brands sourcing from Brazil, while also supporting domestic manufacturers navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
