Bureau Veritas’ Jesse Lowe Named Chair of ASTM D13.50 Subcommittee on Smart Textiles
Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce that Jesse Lowe, Technical Consultant Specialist, has been named chairperson of the D13.50 Subcommittee on Smart Textiles. The ASTM 13.50 Subcommittee on Smart Textiles is tasked with keeping pace with this fast growing segment and to address the challenges related to standards for wearable technology and electronic textiles. As the chairperson, Jesse's objective is to explore the interest in developing a guide to bring smart textiles to market. He seeks a diverse group of members to contribute their varied experiences and insights. Jesse encourages previous members to rejoin and welcomes anyone interested in participating, regardless of their expertise. “Our participation in industry organizations is what gives Bureau Veritas the critical advantage in serving our clients. Jesse brings considerable knowledge and experience to this group and we’re excited about the contribution he will bring to shaping the standards for this growing new market,” noted Travis Norton, Bureau Veritas Director of Global Technical & Information Services. Jesse has been with Bureau Veritas for three years. In his current role, he leads technical aspects of client meetings/webinars, partners with Business Development on new capabilities, and provides technical support for client standard development and revision. He stays current on technical changes, aligns standards to updated criteria, and participates in relevant committees. Jesse also offers technical guidance to operations, leads special projects, and conducts internal ISO 17025 audits. Prior to Bureau Veritas, Jesse's career began in the robotics industry, where he gained experience in field support, quality/reliability engineering, and systems integration/testing.
