Bureau Veritas supports Moxa to obtain the first IEC 62443-4-2 Certificate in the Industrial Control Field in Taiwan

With the assistance of experienced and skilled technical specialists from Bureau Veritas, Moxa has successfully obtained the first IEC 62443-4-2 certificate in the industrial control field in Taiwan.

IEC 62443 contains two categories of accreditation on product standards, including IEC 62443-4-1 (product development requirements) and IEC 62443-4-2 (technical security requirements for IACS components). To obtain the IEC 62443-4-2 certificate, manufacturers must pass the IEC 62443-4-1 accreditation in order to verify its eligibility beforehand.

Pascal Le-Ray, the General Manager of Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Technology Products Business Line Taiwan, commented, "According to the development status and the trend of the global technology adoption, IEC 62443, the industrial controls and information security standard suite, has matched the universal standards with its technical requirements, and it will soon become a mandatory standard across many countries. Furthermore, as demands for product security increase, the importance of IEC 62443-4-2 has grown significantly, resulting in a growing number of manufacturers facing the requirement from their overseas clients to provide Security Level proof for their Industrial IoT equipment."

Pascal additionally highlighted that Bureau Veritas’ global cybersecurity specialists not only assist local manufacturers to construct a cybersecurity framework but also help develop the capabilities to manage the information security process, combining IT with OT technology to comply with international standards.

This year, thanks to Bureau Veritas’ professional assistance again, Moxa received the first IEC 62443-4-2 certificate in the industrial control field in Taiwan.
