Bureau Veritas Updates Commitment to Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS)

Bureau Veritas, the global leading Testing, Inspection and Certification provider, has updated their commitment as an official participant in the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS).

In February 2020, Bureau Veritas participated in the latest training session for APASS members. This involved sending Bureau Veritas’ Certified Packaging Laboratory Professionals directly to Seattle, WA, to be formally trained, in person, by Amazon’s packaging team. The latest program updates were discussed, and all the current packaging requirements for the program were reviewed. 

This was an important step for Bureau Veritas’ Packaging Team, as they were able to receive the most up-to-date and in-person training from Amazon’s packaging team, before the current state of the pandemic restricted such opportunities.

The updated training, and the time spent directly connecting with the Amazon packaging team has provided Bureau Veritas’ Packaging Team with all the information needed to be the most possible reliable resource for any APASS needs during the current pandemic.  

Bureau Veritas’ Packaging Team is now able to provide more accurate information in a timelier manner, and even offer a more efficient testing timeline through these unprecedented times. Bureau Veritas has updated their commitment to being a reliable information resource for all APASS testing needs, and also improved overall testing time by two days. 

The APASS program was designed by Amazon to help support vendors, sellers and manufacturers to obtain certification of their products as Frustration Free Packaging (FFP), Ships-in-Own-Container (SIOC) or Prep-Free Packaging (PFP).   Bureau Veritas provides APASS services directly to vendors, sellers or manufacturers related to package testing in compliance with Amazon’s certification test methods.    

Bureau Veritas is an active member of ISTA and its Technical Council.  ISTA, an international organization dedicated to improving packaging methods, is a leader in specifications for the testing of packaged products and certification of qualified laboratories worldwide. 

With Bureau Veritas’ global network of ISTA certified labs and Certified Packaging Laboratory Professionals at each location, we can meet all package testing needs and provide experienced and knowledgeable assistance. Bureau Veritas has four labs in the US, Vietnam and China approved to provide APASS services to package testing in compliance with Amazon’s certification test methods.
