Bureau Veritas verifies Samsung Display's Industry-Leading Foldable OLED Durability

Granting BV Mark for 500,000-Fold Performance

July 31, 2025 | Seoul, Korea – Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (BVCPS), a world leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, this week announced it has verified Samsung Display's claim of 10 years durability for its new foldable OLED panel, granting the BV Mark to demonstrate the exceptional performance of the panel. 

The verification - following successful completion of a 500,000-fold durability test -represents a significant milestone in foldable display technology, with Samsung Display's panel achieving 2.5 times the industry standard of 200,000 folds. 

This breakthrough demonstrates Bureau Veritas' commitment to supporting technological innovation through rigorous testing and certification services that provide consumers with confidence in cutting-edge products.

Comprehensive testing was conducted over 13 days at 25 degrees Celsius on the 8-inch foldable OLED panel to be placed on Samsung Display's new Galaxy Z Fold7 device. All panels maintained normal functionality throughout the testing period, which simulated approximately 10 years of average use or over 8 years for heavy users.
