Enforcement Trends
- The product category with the highest number of notices was Food & Herbal Supplements which accounted for 38% of all notices this quarter. Of those, the notices were: 260 for lead, 67 for cadmium, 36 for two or more metals, 17 for one or more PFAS chemical (PFOA/PFOS/PFNA), 14 for BPA, 2 for pulegone, and 2 for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.
- Beauty/Personal Care/Hygiene/Cosmetics/Sanitizers accounted for 14% of all notices this quarter.
- Chemical Trends:
- 50% of all notices were for metals: 411 for lead, 67 for cadmium and 39 for two or more metals.
- 24% of all notices were for phthalates.
- Additional PFAS note: There were 57 notices for PFOA/PFOS/PFNA. These were related to a range of products.
