CA Proposition 65: 60 Day Notice Summary for Q3 2023

Enforcement Trends

The product category with the highest amount of notices was food and herbal supplements, which accounted for 38% of all notices this quarter. Of those, the notices were for: 308 for lead, 43 for two or more metals, 31 for cadmium, 14 for mercury, 4 for arsenic and 2 for PFOA.
The product category with the second highest number of notices was unleaded gasoline (wholly vaporized), which accounted for 16% of all notices.
Chemical Trend: 50% of all notices were for metals: 419 for lead, 33 for cadmium, 43 for two or more metals, 14 for mercury and 4 for arsenic.
21% of all notices were for phthalates. 158 were for DEHP, 32 for DINP, 9 for DBP, and 26 for two or more phthalates. The notices covered a range of products.
Additional note: there were 20 Notices for PFOA, related to many types of products, including but not limited to: hats, umbrellas, coolers and grilling mats.
