60 Day Notice Summary for Q4 2022

Enforcement Trends

  • The product category with the highest amount of notices was food and herbal supplements, which accounted for 48% of all notices this quarter.  Of those, the notices were for: 230 for lead, 92 for two or more metals, 60 for cadmium, and 9 for other chemicals.
  • 55% of all notices were for metals: 303 for lead, 86 for two or more metals, 60 for cadmium, 3 for mercury and 1 for arsenic.  The notices covered several product categories.   
  • 27% of all notices were for phthalates: 167 were for DEHP, 30 for DINP, 5 for DBP, one for DIDP, and 14 for two or more phthalates.  The notices covered a range of products.
