Settlements/Judgements Summary for Q2 2024

Enforcement Trends

  • Product categories with the most settlements/judgments:
    • Food and dietary supplements: 33%
    • Bags/kits/cases/totes/backpacks/pouches: 13%
  • Metals were the chemicals named in the most settlements and judgements and accounted for 52% of settlements/judgements. 111 settlements/judgments were for lead, 28 for two or more metals, 7 for cadmium, 3 for mercury and 2 for arsenic.
  • Phthalates accounted for 27% of settlements/judgements, with 59 settlements/ judgements for DEHP, 9 for DINP, 5 for two or more phthalates, 4 for DBP and 1 for DIDP.
  • PFAS Note: There were 3 settlements for PFOA. They were for jackets, cases and umbrellas.
