This Bureau Veritas report provides a summary of the California Proposition 65 settlements and judgements for Q4 2021.
Enforcement Trends:
- Phthalates were the chemicals named in the most settlements and judgments, and accounted for 45% of settlements/judgements. 67 settlements/judgements were for DEHP, 11 for DINP, 2 for DIDP, 2 for DBP and 3 for two or more phthalates. The notices covered a wide range of products.
- Metals accounted for 35% of settlements/judgements, with 57 for lead, 1 for cadmium and 7 for two or more metals.
- Product categories with the most settlements/judgments:
- Food and dietary supplements: 24%
- Bags/kits/cases/totes/backpacks/pouches: 22%
