Settlements/Judgements Summary for Q3

Enforcement Trends
• Product categories with the most settlements/judgements: 
    o Food and Dietary Supplements: 56%
    o Beauty/Personal Care/Hygiene: 7%

• Metals were the chemicals named in the most settlements and judgements and accounted for 68% of all settlements/judgements.  297 settlements/judgments were for lead, 15 for cadmium, 20 for two or more metals, one for arsenic and one for chromium (hexavalent compounds).

• Phthalates accounted for 16% of settlements/judgements, with 58 settlements/judgements for DEHP, 6 for DINP, 5 for DBP, and 1 for two or more phthalates. 

• PFAS Note: There were 14 settlements/judgements for PFOA or more than one PFAS.  They were for a range of products, including dietary supplements.
