China Mandatory Standards of Furniture GB 18584-2024 and GB 28007-2024 Published

China National standardization administration published 18 mandatory standards in its 12th announcement of 2024, including GB 18584-2024 Limit of harmful substances of furniture, and GB 28007-2024 Technical specifications for the safety of infants' and children's furniture. They integrated and superseded some furniture related standards; this newsletter lists out brief comparison of the new and current standards. 

1. GB 18584-2024 Limit of harmful substances of furniture, replacing GB 18584-2001 & GB 28481-2012, will be implemented from 1 July 2025
2. GB 28007-2024 Technical specifications for the safety of infants' and children's furniture, replacing GB 28007-2011, GB 22793.1-2008 & partially GB 24430.1-2009, will be implemented from 1 January 2026.
