China Market Surveillance & Recall Cases of Food Contact Products from April to June 2023

This update provides surveillance results of product quality inspections and recall cases regarding food contact products, which are based on market surveillance results published by local administration of market regulation and notifications released by local defective product administrative centers across China. These non-compliant parameters and risks include technical requirements originated from mandatory and recommended standards.

Notably, Zhejiang province inspected 10 batches of food contact products made of biodegradable plastic, 1 batch does not meet the biodegradability requirements was found. And Hunan province also frequently recalled a number of ceramic ware that have poor physical performance properties.
