China Market Updates: New Substances and Materials Safe for Food Contact Use Approved by National Health Commission

The National Health Commission (NHC) of China announced new food ingredients and related products (including food contact materials and additives) that been evaluated and approved in the notification in February 2025. This update lists the additives and resins that have been approved. The announcement approved Chromium Nitride that is a new type of inorganic coating material, this is the first time NHC approved such new type of food contact materials.
