On Monday, July 18, 2022, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) staff published within the Federal Register a Revised Final Rule for 16 CFR Part 1231, Safety Standard for High Chairs. 16 CFR Part 1231 will now reference ASTM F404-21, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for High Chairs as mandatory with no modifications.
The previous version of the 16 CFR 1231 referenced the ASTM F404-20 with no modifications. The ASTM F404-21 version includes minor revisions and clarifications on the test method for the stability test used within the standard.
This Revised Final Rule will become effective July 23, 2022.
