EU Standard of EN 55035 is Announced as a Harmonised Standard under Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive

Sep. 17 2019

According to the “Commission Implementing Decisions” of Official Journal of the European Union,  EN55035 is announced as a harmonised standard under the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive. However, its compulsory enforcement date remains undecided, thus, both EN 55035 and EN 55024 are currently recognized as harmonised standards of the Official Journal of the European Union.

The references published under Directive 2014/30/EU on electromagnetic compatibility are found in the Commission communication published in OJ C 246 of 13 July 2018 and in the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1326 of 6 August 2019 (OJ L 206, 6 August 2019) listed below. Bureau Veritas recommend that the two documents need to be read together, taking into account that the decision modifies some references published in the Communication. For more details of modifications, please refer to below links:

In view of this announcement, Bureau Veritas comments that as ITE Products are able to apply with either EN 55024 or EN55035, EN 55035 should be used wherever possible as the testing standard.
