On the 3rd December 2021 GENELGE 2021/24 was published by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In the light of thousand of years of state tradition, it is proposed that the “Türkiye” brand is accepted as the roof brand of the country in national and international media.
The phrase “Turkiye” represent the culture, civilization and values of the Turkish nation in the best way.
In this context, the phrase "Made in Türkiye" is proposed to be used instead of "Made in Turkey" in our export products, making it the pride of our country in international trade, and our products were introduced with the phrase "Turkiye" and brought to the whole world.
The scope of this change and the strengthening of the ‘Türkiye’ brand, in all kinds of activities and correspondence and official relations with other states and international institutions and organizations, will be shown by the use of the phrase ‘Türkiye’ instead of phrases such as ‘Turkey,’ ‘Turkei,’ ‘Turquie’ etc.”
Although there is no confirmed date for this introduction, the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) has announced that they would use labels “Made in Türkiye” instead of “Made in Turkey” on products shipped abroad. However, that was not an obligatory decision. TİM (Turkish Eksporters’ Assembly) also established a “branding council” to promote the new label.
Feasibility of this practice is still under discussion between Presidency and Ministry of foreign Affairs and this has not been declared officially yet.
As per our communication of ministry authorities, it’s expected that subject issue will be clarified in March 2022.
