Hong Kong Published in Gazette the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Notice 2023

The Hong Kong Government published in the Gazette the Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 2) Notice 2023 on Feb 17, 2023. The Notice updates the safety standards for four children's products listed in the Schedule 2 under the Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance (Cap 424).

The Notice will come into operation on August 1, 2023.

The Ordinance stipulates that a person must not manufacture, import or supply a toy or Schedule 2 product unless it complies with all the applicable requirements contained in at least one set of the safety standards specified in Schedule 1 and 2 respectively to the Ordinance. These standards are international standards or standards adopted in major economies.
