Mexico Secretaría de Economía published an official gazette of a new law which takes effect on the first business day of June in 2019 ( JUN 3rd 2019) . Hereafter all NOM certificates in accordance with specific Official Mexican Standards should reveal the 8- digit HS code . HS code (Harmonized System Code of tariff nomenclature) shown must be the same HS code with which the importer will do for Customs clearance.
All the valid NOM certificates that will be used by the importer at Customs must be re-issued ensuring the certificate inclusive of the HS code . It' has to be the correct HS code or the products clearance might be retarded until the certificate is revised.
