EN 17885 Background
A new European standard, BS EN 17885:2023, has been published for candle accessories. The standard covers items like candle holders, burners, lanterns, and more. Accessories must comply with safety requirements, including flammability, stability, fire safety, and surface temperature. Candle accessories, as per the new standard, must adhere to safety criteria covering flammability, stability, fire safety, and surface temperature.

The label must be visible and legible on the accessory itself or its packaging. If not feasible, it can be provided in a separate pamphlet accompanying the product.

Language Requirements:
If text is used, it must be in the language of the country where the accessories are marketed.

Symbol Specifications:
When symbols are employed, they should be a minimum of 5mm in height and in distinct contrast to the background.
