As per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances, or PFAS, continues to be a subject that is top of mind for many in the consumer products industry, provided here is a reminder of requirements becoming effective in January 2024.
Important to note that there are PFAS restrictions for most of these product types already in effect in other states.
Several US state PFAS requirements go into effect January 1, 2024. Listed here are the product types and state where each apply.

Additionally, as a reminder, the PFAS reporting and recordkeeping rule under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) is in the data gathering phase for imported articles containing PFAS. Companies have until November 2024 to gather their data to be reported in the next phase.
