Public Consultation on Four Potential SVHC Under REACH

Sep. 18 2025

The European Chemical Agency has launched a new public consultation concerning four potential SVHC. Stakeholders can provide comments on these proposed SVHC until 16 October 2025, while feedback for DBDPE had been accepted on August 11, 2025. All comments will be taken into account when deciding whether the substances will be added to the ECHA Candidate List of SVHC.

Background

On 01 September 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published new potential Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). After preparing dossiers for these substances, ECHA has now invited interested parties to participate in a public consultation for all substances except DBDPE. For DBDPE, there was already a public consultation which ended on 11 August 2025. The consultation for the other substances allows stakeholders to submit comments within a timeframe of 45 days, until 16 October 2025.

A decision will be made as to whether the substances will be included to the ECHA Candidate List of SVHC after the consultation.
