US FDA Update on Cosmetic Facility & Product Listing Submissions

On November 1, 2023, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Update on Cosmetic Product Facility Registration and Cosmetic Product Listing. The FDA stated that due to comments received on the Draft Guidance for Industry: Registration and Listing of Cosmetic Product Facilities and Products and the necessary review and approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), they were not able to make the October target date for the cosmetic facility registration and product listing portal.

Following were announced in the update:
•    “FDA will provide more information on the launch date for electronic submission and paper submission forms in the coming weeks.”
•    “FDA strongly encourages electronic submissions to facilitate efficiency and timeliness of data submission and management for the agency.”
•    “Industry can continue to prepare for registration and listing by reviewing the documents FDA has provided and being proactive in collecting the information required to complete their facility registrations and product listings.”
