In 2024, Bureau Veritas acquired LBS Group a leading provider of quality assurance and quality control services for the luxury goods industry. With over 60 inspectors in Europe and 20 in Asia, we can now offer comprehensive QA/QC solutions for luxury brands across their entire supply chain. This addition, strengthens our already extensive range of solutions specific for high end goods.

RAW MATERIAL QUALITY CONTROL

Our quality control process begins with the raw materials used in production. We have specialized inspectors stationed at tanneries and textile mills to conduct alignment sessions with customers and ensure quality tolerances are met. This includes verifying appearance, hand-feel, color, and other key specifications against approved master samples.

The inspection involves having a master sample in the tannery that is valid in appearance, hand-touch, and color. It also requires that a summary sheet be present where the following information's are indicated: Intended use, Thickness agreed, Size agreed, Percentages of choices agreed upon between customer and tannery.

In our Italian warehouse we can perform detailed quality control and selection on incoming raw materials. This multi-stage process involves initial acceptance checks, individual item barcoding and accredited measurement, and grading defects according to severity. The end result is a classification of the materials into different quality grades that the brand can use to determine the optimal utilization.
We (LBC A Bureau Veritas Company) are the only entity accredited 'ACCREDIA' for leather measurements.

COMPONENT AND FINISHED GOODS INSPECTIONS

Beyond raw materials, Bureau Veritas also provides quality control services for components, semi-finished, and finished luxury goods. Our inspectors, who have deep expertise in production processes, are stationed on-site at manufacturing facilities to monitor quality in real-time. This allows them to identify and address any issues before they impact the final product.

For finished goods, we have the capability to perform comprehensive inspections at our own logistics facilities. This includes not just visual and dimensional checks, but also testing to validate performance specifications and 3D design conformity. Brands can leverage our modern traceability technologies to ensure complete quality oversight.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND R&D

In addition to our QA/QC services, Bureau Veritas also provides technical support to our customers. This includes assistance with sourcing raw materials, as well as R&D to fine-tune and optimize materials for their intended use. Our team of experts work closely with brands to ensure the materials and components meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

We offer to our customers technical support for sourcing raw materials for the production of collection/special projects/capsule. Bureau Veritas aim to fine-tune and optimize the quality of materials considering the final destination and the intended of use.
