Sustainable Packaging Material, Claims and Material Usage Monitoring

We will be discussing applicable methods and approaches that can be used to validate commonly used environmental, sustainability, and green claims utilized on shipping materials. We will also cover how environmentally sustainable packaging projects can be leveraged to support both corporate and retailer sustainability reporting. We will provide guidance on how these topics can be utilized to provide a package that is more environmentally friendly.

1. What is a Green Claim, and how can it be leveraged & substantiated on my packaging materials?
2. How can I work to improve the sustainability of my company packaging material?
3. What tools can a company utilize to track and monitor its packaging material utilization against corporate initiatives?

SAC HIGG BRM: HIGG Brand and Retailer Module Overview and Insights

We’ll look at how retailers and brands can demonstrate improvements over time of environmental and social performance. Understanding the HIGG Brand & Retail Module (BRM) – a tool that guides retailers and brands on their sustainability journeys and identifies hotspots and opportunities for improvement along their global value chain. How retailers and brands can demonstrate improvements over time of environmental and social performance? We’ll be discussing the issue of fiber fragment release through washing and wearing. Understanding The Microfibre Consortium (TMC)’s test method, which determines the quantity of textile material losses from fabrics under standard conditions which reflect those found in domestic laundering.
