Textile Exchange Certification for Brands

Rules for brands wishing to use certified Textile Exchange Claims are changing.

Textile Exchange updated the process for brands, with key changes starting from 1 April 2023 for brands using TE claims or logos on their own products: they must be certified or be in pursuit of certification.

For brands pursuing certification, they must:
1. Have a signed contract in place with a Certification Body (CB).
2. Register in Textile Exchange Portal by 31st March 2023.
3. Receive a valid Scope Certificate from authorized CB by 1st July 2023.

All existing labels and claims from Textile Exchange logos must be reapproved using the brands' new license number.

International Voluntary Standards

Image	•	Organic Content Standard (OCS). Provides a chain of custody verification for materials originating on a farm certified to recognized organic standards. The standard is used to verify organically grown raw materials from the farm to the final product. The goal of the OCS is to increase organic agriculture production.
Image	•	Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). Sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled input and chain of custody. The goal of the RCS is to increase the use of recycled materials.
Image	•	Global Recycled Standard (GRS). Sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The goal of the GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce/eliminate the harm caused by its production.
