Bureau Veritas assists Fortune Electric in achieving IEC 62443-2-4 Certification
January 15, 2026 | Taipei, Taiwan - As industrial control systems and critical infrastructure continue to digitalize and connect, cybersecurity has evolved into a systematic discipline encompassing organizational governance, product development processes, and supply chain management. Bureau Veritas has supported Fortune Electric in achieving IEC 62443-2-4 certification, establishing a sustainable organization-level cybersecurity governance framework. A certification ceremony marked this important milestone in Fortune Electric’s industrial cybersecurity journey.
IEC 62443-2-4 addresses cybersecurity requirements at the organizational level, including security policies, defined roles and responsibilities, risk assessment, security requirement management, supply chain control, and incident response mechanisms. For organizations traditionally focused on functionality, reliability, and safety, this standard integrates cybersecurity into decision-making and the product development lifecycle. Bureau Veritas collaborated closely with Fortune Electric to interpret requirements and align them with existing practices, ensuring governance operates sustainably over time.
Early adoption introduces complexity in security requirement analysis, threat modeling, design review, documentation, testing, vulnerability management, and change control. These investments reduce long-term remediation costs, incident risks, and customer complaints. By institutionalizing processes, security embeds into operations and architectures, enabling efficient replication for future products while maintaining cost control.
As an independent third-party verifier, Bureau Veritas provided clear interpretations of IEC 62443-2-4 requirements and verification expectations. It objectively reviewed Fortune Electric’s processes and documentation, offering practical recommendations for improvement. This supports an internationally aligned, operationally effective cybersecurity management system.
Sébastian Doose, Senior Vice President of the Global Technology Products Business Line at Bureau Veritas, commented: "The core of industrial cybersecurity is not limited to technical defense, but whether cybersecurity can be truly embedded into organizational governance and product development processes. IEC 62443-2-4 provides a balanced framework addressing both management and technical aspects. Bureau Veritas is pleased to support Fortune Electric in translating international standards into practical, verifiable cybersecurity capabilities that respond to long-term global market expectations."
IEC 62443-2-4 certification strengthens Fortune Electric’s response to evolving customer and market requirements. Early integration reduces downstream risks and prepares for stringent regulations. Bureau Veritas will continue collaborating with industrial partners to develop sustainable cybersecurity governance, enhancing trust and competitiveness in global markets.
