This Bureau Veritas report provides a summary of the California Proposition 65 settlements and judgements for Q2 2021. This report includes the enforcement trends and the most targeted products and chemicals.
Enforcement Trends:
• Phthalates were the chemicals named in the most settlements and judgments which accounted for 57% of settlements/judgements. 109 settlements/judgements were for DEHP, 14 for DINP, 1 for DIDP, 1 for DBP and 4 for two or more phthalates. The notices covered a wide range of products.
• Metals accounted for 25% of settlements/judgements, with 54 for lead, 1 for arsenic, 1 for mercury and 3 for two or more metals.
• Acrylamide accounted for 6% of settlements/judgements.
• Product categories with the most settlements/judgments:
o Food products: 21%
o Bags/kits/cases/totes/backpacks/pouches: 20%
