California Proposition 65 Settlements

The following is a summary of California Proposition 65 settlements recently finalized that involve consumer products (desk organizers with brass components, holiday decor bells with exterior decorations, rubber and PVC couplings, book and bible carrying covers/ cases, hair dryer, headband, masks storage bag, personal chair shade accessory with plastic components, PVC straw pouches, makeup brush set with reusable pouch, tire sealant).

Desk organizers with brass components
• Requirement
o a. No more than 90 ppm total lead, and
b. No more than 1 µg lead result in Ghost WipeTM test
o Or utilize a warning statement

Holiday decor bells with exterior decorations
• Requirement
o a. No more than 90 ppm total lead, and
b. No more than 1 µg lead result in Ghost WipeTM test
o Or utilize a warning statement

Rubber and PVC couplings
• Requirement
o No more than 100 ppm (0.01%) total lead
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) for each DEHP and DBP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Book and bible carrying covers/ cases
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Hair dryer
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Headband
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Masks storage bag
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Personal chair shade accessory with plastic components
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

PVC straw pouches
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Makeup brush set with reusable pouch
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
o Or utilize a warning statement

Tire sealant
• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP

• Requirement
o No more than 1000 ppm (0.1%) DEHP
