Bureau Veritas Delivers Specialized Training on EU Sustainability Regulations to Exporters in Cambodia and Laos
Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services recently delivered a specialized training program designed to support exporters and local suppliers in Cambodia and Laos in understanding the European Union’s evolving trade and sustainability landscape.
The training sessions, held in Cambodia on October 28 and Laos on October 30, 2025, are part of a broader project carried out by EuroCham Laos on behalf of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in collaboration with EuroCham Cambodia. This initiative aims to operationalize trade reforms and strengthen trade–climate linkages to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth across Southeast Asia.
Participants gained valuable insights into the EU Green Deal and key frameworks, including EUDR, CBAM, CSDDD, the Circular Economy Action Plan, ESPR, and CSRD. The sessions highlighted how these policies will fundamentally shape the future of international trade, helping manufacturers and suppliers adapt to maintain market access.
The training was facilitated by Bureau Veritas technical representatives Rakesh Vazirani, Director of Decarbonization and Cleaner Production, and Demi Tran, Sustainability Project Manager. The sessions focused on the practical interpretation of these regulations, supply chain traceability, and carbon reporting mechanisms.
Program Highlights:
- Capacity Building: The workshops are part of Bureau Veritas’ ongoing initiative to enable learning and technical development for manufacturers and local suppliers across the Asian region.
- Knowledge Acquisition: Pre- and post-training assessments recorded a significant increase in participant knowledge regarding key EU regulatory requirements.
- Industry Application: Attendees from various sectors, including agriculture and logistics, worked on specific action plans to align their operations with international expectations.
Through such initiatives, Bureau Veritas continues to support the global supply chain by providing the education and guidance necessary for businesses to navigate complex regulatory environments.
