60 Day Notice Summary for Q3 2022

Enforcement Trends:

  • The product category with the highest amount of notices was food and herbal supplements, which accounted for 38% of all notices this quarter.  Of those, the notices were for: 218 for lead, 64 for two or more metals, 42 for cadmium, 16 for acrylamide, 9 for methyleugenol and 5 for other chemicals.
  • 56% of all notices were for metals: 410 for lead, 61 for two or more metals, 42 for cadmium, 3 for arsenic, 2 for mercury, and 1 for antimony.  The notices covered several product categories.  
  •  26% of all notices were for phthalates: 181 were for DEHP, 33 for DINP, 17 for DBP, one for DIDP, and 8 for two or more phthalates.  The notices covered a range of products.
