MPCA Postpones PFAS Reporting
As of April 2026, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has updated support documents, extension request forms, waiver request forms, and PRISM 1.2. These are available on their site and related to Minnesota’s requirement for reporting products containing intentionally added PFAS.
The reporting requirement was scheduled to become effective July 1, 2026 but will now be required for product on the shelf on or after September 15, 2026.
Requests for extension or waivers are due by August 16, 2026. If granted the extension would require reporting as of December 14, 2026.
The 2.0 version of the reporting database, PRISM, has been released with enhanced features based on ongoing user feedback.

Proposed Bill to Amend PFAS Reporting
A proposed bill, HF4257/SF5092, was introduced in March 2026 that would amend the existing PFAS in products reporting requirements. Amendments include postponing the initial reporting date to July 1, 2027, one year later than the current reporting date and narrowing the scope to product manufactured on or after the reporting date. The amended wording also adds several currently unavoidable uses into the law to act as exemptions until the full prohibition of intentionally added PFAS goes into effect in 2032.
To date, both the House and Senate bills are in committee.
